When Things Don't Go Well
Despite the best of intentions, sometimes businesses encounter problems, many of which can be fatal. Causes vary however, if the underlying cause is not identified and remedied quickly the business may fail. We have often been called upon to help identify the underlying causes, and to help guide the business turnaround (recovery) program. When necessary, we can also invoke protection under federal law to aid the recovery or where more practical, bankruptcy.
Business Incubators and Accelerators
The concept of a Business Incubators is that an outside company provides various services, and sometimes office space, to a start-up business. Normally, fees are charged for the services, and as in all situations, the quality of the services and guidance varies greatly. Accelerators provide similar services but are also early-stage investors, providing some amount of capital in return for an equity stake in the business. Though accelerators also provide some amount of services and guidance, as equity holders, their interests in the start-up business are very different.
